We, at Action Physios are first line practitioners. This means that you do not need to be referred to us by a doctor or specialist, if you are however referred to us, please ensure that you do bring your referral letter, as well as any additional information (such as X-rays or scans) along to the consultation. We are medically trained and are qualified to assess and make a diagnosis. Treatment will then be recommended and if we feel it is necessary, we will refer you to a specialist.
Physiotherapy is mainly concerned with assessing, treating and preventing movement disorders, restoring normal functions or minimizing dysfunction and pain in adults and children with physical impairment. Action Physios aim at enabling our clients to achieve the highest possible level of independence in their lives, preventing recurring injuries and disability in the workplace, at home, or during recreational activities and promoting community health for all age groups.
The duration of the first consultation is approximately 45 minutes to an hour. The physiotherapist will do a comprehensive assessment, which will entail questions regarding the nature and severity of the condition, how it started, activities that make it better or worse and general questions about your health, work and hobbies that may affect the problem. An objective examination is also conducted to guide the decision making process in order to establish precautions, contra-indications, and to find the most suitable treatment strategy.
Treatment options will be considered and discussed according to the findings of the assessment...
